I live in: United Kingdom (England)
My nearest city or region is: Bournemouth
My terrarium has only been up and running for around a week. Yesterday, I noticed a few spots of mould on a piece of bog wood (I wiped it off) and today another few spots on another piece of bog wood. I have now removed both the affected pieces of bog wood (thankfully they were only in there to give support to some bromeliads who are now staying put without them). The two remaining bog wood branches have plants attached to them and are so far clear of mould.

Is it normal for bog wood / driftwood to initially get mould spots? Is it likely to settle on its own? I have increased the airflow today by opening the front doors for a while. I have also opened the adjacent window to create air movement. (The lid is mesh).

Any advice appreciated.
